Assent
by Chris A. Peck
Through wind, and hail and rain,
they went
With wings on their feet,
they soar in and out of time;
in and out of space and thought and
trouble.
They wield their steed and steel and
pull onward and up.
Up to the peak of reason—
A perfect realization of their pain
and of their suffering
and of their joy.
